COMING SPRING '09. SHAPESHIFTERS MIXTAPE.

Photobucket
"I hear the game need a facelift, so we gonna break em off with a shape shift."

While you were sleeping...

We have been hard at work. The Shapeshifters mixtape will be the first that we put our all behind and get the works--full press/print/copy of the product. The concept behind the mixtape is based on the hook from the title track, Shapeshifters.

Expect the unexpected. We have been going in hard lately, and after performing for nearly a year as SOTA, we went back into the studio with a show in mind, and you will get it.

To coincide with the release of this cover, we have released the title track for the mixtape on our MySpace. Check it out, comment, and by all means...blog about it.

Expect the final product sometime in May.

NO FEATURES.
ALL HEATERS.

Real talk. Good to hear from somebody who really came up for the right reasons, "whether you like it or not," and is doing it for the people. This is the new wave baby, music for music's sake. Yezzir.

Taz Arnold From Sa-Ra Speaks on TI$A & his new movement

Funny thing is I'm pretty sure me and Nate were having a conversation similar to this last night. Or i was receiving a sermon of sorts of the dark & light thing etc...Except we weren't rocking 4 gucci belts or 3 pairs of millionaire LV lenses on our faces. But ne ways these are very testy, changing times, as I'm told and grow to know better myself. And I'll have you know I'm a mirror that reflects a little bit of all of these haha...ignorance,light, dark, smiles, and frowns, thats just how i get down :) Peace, Streets, & shanks instead of my piece. Hope everyone had good weekends.

The Boy Who Lived Before

I feel like this young lad after coming back from New York livin with P....Seriously though...Life is a recycling of energy...ripples and cycles, space is just a larger version of our smallest atomic level. We are all connected, to the point even that this kind of thing happens!! and it does. look it up.

Jimi Hendrix does Star Spangled Banner @ Woodstock

Spent some time remembering back when I learned how to play guitar...wanted to throw these performances out there. These are in my mind two of the most significant guitar performances ever to go down...thats big right? Anyway, be sure to check the Jimi out, the man emulates bombs dropping with a guitar. The Van Halen, well that ishh is just crazy...

Catch up with 2AM CLUB...

Word to our homies 2AM CLUB, getting it in real tough like lately in the studio out in Brooklyn, working on their debut album. They've been going hard in the past few months, I ran through a label showcase sometime in July last summer, then ran into Tyler (frontman, there are 2) at a corner store on Thompkins Square Park right by where I live. Turns out we are neighbors, and they've been working Day n Nite for a minute on the music (after being signed to Jay Records), caught them over @ Piano's last weekend with Hyphen8d while he was still out here. Here is 2AM CLUB TV Episode 3.

Check them out:

SOTA Myspace is redesigned....woowie wee wa

Check it out HERE.

In light of recent developments and progressive elements in our short career (We started SOTA in August 2007...seems like so long ago..) I went ahead an dusted off the 'ol myspace, go figure. No lie though we are going to be stepping up our myspace game in a major way, considering it is so central to proliferating music, building up the fanbase...etc, so check out the new clothes and ADD US IF YOU HAVEN'T YET! Feel free to hit us up with a message or comment, we will be releasing the majority of our new media on there, (w/corresponding announcements on the blog...yaddada).

'09 improvements:

-Acquired www.sotaboys.com...check.
-Redesign myspace...check.
-NEARLY FINISHED W/NEW MIXTAPE!!

^^^More on that later. Suffice it to say that you can expect a couple leaks in the near future (days perhaps...), and always more shows (April 1st, 14th...+TBA).

P.S. I'M STILL IN COLLEGE (in nyc).
P.P.S. Imagine what is going to happen when the SOTA crew reconvenes in Seattle this summer. Cheaper phone bills if nothing else.

NY Mag Article: The Fashion Theif

First Two Paragraphs..

Sometimes he likes to perform what he calls “the Outfit Check.” Coral J. Crew cashmere V-neck sweater—check. Gucci charcoal skinny jeans—check. Gucci double-G logo belt—check. Spotless brand-new cream-and-gold Louis Vuitton Damier checkerboard- pattern sneakers—check. Blue Fendi glasses frames with the FENDI sticker still stuck on the lower corner of the lens—check. When he’s dressed like this, he says, “I feel high-class—like nobody can tell me nothing.”

But the outfit loses its protective aura when Kevahn Thorpe is wearing it, as he is on this June morning, before Judge Gregory Carro in State Supreme Court in downtown Manhattan. And Carro is, in fact, about to tell Kevahn something. At a word from the judge, the court officers can step forward to handcuff Kevahn, in all his finery, right there in the courtroom, shouting, “One comin’ in!” as they escort him to the holding cells and eventually to Rikers Island. Kevahn is a slight 17-year-old standing no more than five foot seven, but if this is what Carro decides to do, it won’t be his first trip to the Island. This arrest is the latest in a long series of thefts of high fashion from Gucci and Prada to Bergdorf and Barneys, and even though he has never been convicted of anything more serious than possession of stolen goods, a misdemeanor, Kevahn is now facing a one-to-three-year sentence in prison upstate for repeated offenses.

Jackson, and Quincy Jones...Bill Bellamy, Cedric the Entertainer, Clifton Powell, Jermaine Dupri, Morris Chestnut, Katherine Heigl, and Tatyana Ali. Perhaps more.

**Hy Say's:

David says Pac. And yes, P and I are co-blogging. and cohabitating. un poco.
